Galaxy S21 Series

The S21 was the generation with the camera housing that wrapped around the corner and merged into the frame. It is a distinctive shape and a demanding one to cut leather around, because the opening has to follow the curve rather than sit as a rectangle in the middle of the back.

Three sizes on this page, plus the S21 FE, and none of them share a shell.

• Galaxy S21: the compact one, flat screen

The FE is the one people get wrong. It is not a variation on the S21 and does not take the same case.

Capri puts cards on the back of a snap-on shell. Lucca leaves the back plain. Florence and Florence-flex are folio wallets that close over the screen, with RFID blocking behind the card slots.

Stock varies by size on a range this old. What shows in the swatches under each card is what is left, not a selection of it.

Capri takes two or three cards against the back. The folios take four or five inside the cover, with an RFID blocking layer behind the slots on every wallet design.

Wireless charging works through the leather. The S21 Ultra supports the S Pen as an accessory rather than in a silo, so there is no slot for a case to block.

Full-grain is the outer layer of the hide with the grain left on. It is the strongest part and the part that darkens rather than peeling. Split leather, which is what most cheap leather cases use, is the layer underneath and it wears through instead.

Inside, a suede lining keeps the frame and camera glass off anything hard. That matters more on a phone you plan to keep.

Does the S21 FE take the same case as the S21? No. It is a different body and needs its own.

Will a case cover the curved screen edge on the Ultra? A folio does. A snap-on stops at the frame, which is how it has to be so the screen stays usable.
