iPhone 13 & Earlier

The iPhone 13 and everything before it now sit together on this page, because most people arriving here are not shopping by generation. They know they have an older iPhone and they want to see what still fits it.

Use the device chips above the grid to jump straight to your model. Everything from the 13 Pro Max down to the 6 and the SE is in the list, and each case shows only the sizes we actually cut.

Older iPhones are easy to mix up, and a case that is one size out is the most common return we see. Settings, then General, then About gives the exact model name in about ten seconds.

• The 13 and the 13 Pro are the same size. The 13 Mini and 13 Pro Max are not.
• The X and the XS share a body. The XS Max and the XR are each their own size.
• The 8 and the 7 share a body, as do the 8 Plus and 7 Plus. The SE from 2020 and 2022 uses the 8 body.
• The 6 and 6S share a body, and the 6 Plus and 6S Plus share theirs.

Cases do not carry over between these phones, and the reasons are worth knowing if you are replacing one.

• The 12 introduced the flat sided body and the MagSafe magnets. The 13 kept both, with a larger camera block.
• The 11 and X families have curved sides and no magnets, so magnetic charging is not available on them.
• The 8 and the SE charge wirelessly. The 7 and everything before it do not.
• Camera cutouts changed nearly every year, which is why a 12 case will not sit right on a 13.

All three styles are cut for the phones on this page, and the right one depends on how the phone is carried rather than on the model.

A folio covers the screen, which matters more on an older phone where a replacement screen can cost more than the handset is worth. A wallet case carries cards and detaches on several of our designs, so the phone can go out on its own. A snap-on keeps the phone slim and takes the knocks on the corners, where drops land.

Most case makers drop a size within two years of a phone launching, because the volume moves to the newest model. That leaves a lot of working phones with nothing decent to put on them.

These phones are second phones, work phones, first phones for a child, and phones owned by people who simply saw no reason to upgrade. We keep cutting for them in short runs. It is not the profitable end of the catalogue, and it is the part we would least like to give up.

Why is my model not in the chips? Either we have not cut that size, or it is out of stock in every colour. Write to us and we will tell you which.

Will a MagSafe wallet stick to these? Only on the 12 and 13, which have the magnets. On older phones a magnetic accessory needs a plate.

Is the leather the same as on the newest cases? Identical. The same hides, cut to older patterns.
