Small leather goods are usually where a maker cuts corners, because nobody inspects an AirTag holder the way they inspect a bag.

These come off the same hides as the bags and the phone cases, cut from the offcuts that are too small for a panel and too good to throw away. Same leather, same stitching, same burnished edges. It is also why a wallet and a bookmark bought together tend to match closely.

Anything here that wraps a device is cut for that device, not made to a generic size.

AirPods covers depend on which charging case you own. Laptop sleeves depend on the machine rather than the screen size printed on the box. Screen protectors depend on the exact phone. Each product page carries a selector listing only the models that piece actually fits, and if yours is not listed, we have not cut one for it.

A desk mat, a bookmark, a cable roll or a belt will suit almost anyone. If you are guessing at taste, the darker shades are the safer bet. Engraving is available on many pieces, set up on the product page, though an engraved item cannot be returned, so check the spelling before you order.

Small items live harder lives than bags. They go in pockets with keys, get sat on, and spend nights in a car.

• A dry cloth handles almost everything. Water rings fade if you wet the whole panel evenly and let it dry flat.
• Condition once or twice a year with a colourless cream. Boot oils will darken these pieces more than you want.
• Scratches on a small piece usually rub out with a warm thumb, because the leather is thinner and the finish moves more easily.

Will two pieces in the same colour match? Closely, not exactly. Ordering them together improves the odds, because they are more likely to be cut from the same batch.

Is any of this genuine leather? All of it, apart from the felt laptop covers and the glass protectors, which say so on their own pages.

Can I order something that is out of stock? Write to us before assuming it is discontinued. Small pieces are made in short runs and often come back.
