Galaxy Note Series

The Note line stopped in 2020 and a lot of them are still in use, usually by people who wanted the pen and never found a replacement they liked. This page covers the Note 9, Note 10, Note 10 Plus and Note 20 Ultra.

Every case here leaves the S Pen slot clear. A cover that blocks the pen turns the phone into something else.

• Note 9: the last of the old shape, fingerprint reader below the camera
• Note 10: the smaller of that pair, centred front camera
• Note 10 Plus: larger, with a depth sensor on the back
• Note 20 Ultra: the largest, with a camera block that stands well proud of the glass

None of them share a case. The pen slot sits in a different corner on the Note 9 than on the later models.

A Note is a two-handed phone, and that changes the answer. Florence and Venice cover the screen and give you something to hold onto when the phone is open. Capri keeps cards on the back without adding much thickness, and Verona is the slimmer wallet of the two.

All of them are full-grain cowhide with a suede lining, and the wallet models carry RFID blocking behind the card slots.

Capri holds two or three cards on the back. Florence, Venice and Verona hold more inside the cover, all with an RFID blocking layer behind the slots.

Wireless charging works through the leather on every Note here. Reverse charging for earbuds works too, though it is slower through a case than without one.

Samsung folded the Note into the S Ultra line, which means nobody is making new accessories for these phones. What is on this page is what remains, and colours are down to the shades that ran longest.

The leather is the same full-grain cowhide as the current range, lined in suede, stitched along the full edge.

Does a Note 10 case fit the Note 10 Plus? No. The Plus is longer and has an extra sensor on the back.

Can the pen be removed with the case on? Yes. Every design here leaves the silo and the release clear.

Is the Note 8 covered? Not on this page. What is listed is the Note 9 and later.

Will there be more? No. These are the last of the stock cut for the Note line.

The Note line ended with the 20 series and the pen moved across to the Ultra models of the S range. If you are still carrying a Note because of the pen, you are in good company. The one thing a case for it cannot compromise on is leaving the pen slot completely clear.
