The Pixel that started the camera bar
The Pixel 6 introduced the bar across the back, and it is still the shape Google builds around. It is also the reason a case for these phones has to be cut rather than moulded: the bar stands proud of the glass, and the leather has to meet it exactly or the whole back rocks.
The 6 and the 6 Pro are different sizes with different bar heights, so they take different cases.
Telling the 6 from the 6 Pro
The 6 Pro is taller, has a curved screen and carries three lenses in the bar. The standard 6 is flat-screened with two. The 6a is smaller than both and takes its own case.
Settings, then About phone, settles it in a few seconds.
Worth a leather case in year four
Plenty of Pixel 6 phones are still working fine and living in a case that has gone soft and yellow. Full-grain cowhide does not do that. It darkens, keeps its shape, and gives a phone this age a look that reads as kept rather than left over.
Capri, Lucca, Florence-flex and Ravenna are cut for these two sizes, in a suede lined shell.
Cards and charging
Capri takes two or three cards on the back, Florence-flex and Ravenna four or five inside the cover, all with RFID blocking behind the slots.
Wireless charging works through the leather with the phone side against the pad.
Stock on a 2021 phone
Colours here are what is left rather than a full range. The swatches under each card are accurate for your size, so if a shade is not showing it has gone.
Everything still ships in a rigid box and can be engraved for 18.90 dollars.
Notes on the Pixel 6 range
The Pixel 6 was the first phone with the camera bar, and it needs a case cut for that shape rather than a generic rectangular opening.
- The 6, 6 Pro and 6a all have different footprints. The 6a in particular is noticeably smaller.
- The bar stands proud of the back, so the case has to lift the phone clear of the table. Ours does, which is why the shell looks thicker at the top than at the bottom.
- Fingerprint unlock sits under the screen on these models, so nothing on the case interferes with it.
These are older phones now and the stock reflects that. If you need a specific colour in quantity, ask before ordering rather than after.
Worth adding: the 6a has no wireless charging at all, so if you have been trying to make a charging pad work through a case, the case is not the problem. The 6 and the 6 Pro both charge wirelessly, and leather does not interfere with it.
