Every iPhone 17 size gets its own pattern

The 17 line has more body shapes than any recent generation. The 17, the thinner 17 Air, the 17 Pro, the 17 Pro Max and the 17e all sit on this page, and each one is cut from its own pattern. A camera plateau that moves a couple of millimetres is enough to make a case useless, so nothing is shared between sizes here.

If you already know which phone you have, use the model row above the grid. If you are not sure, open Settings, then General, then About. The model name is on the first line.

Four sizes, and how to tell them apart

  • iPhone 17: the standard body, two rear lenses
  • iPhone 17 Air: noticeably thinner than the rest of the line, and its own case
  • iPhone 17 Pro: same footprint as the 17, deeper camera housing
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: the largest of the four

The 17e sits alongside them with a body of its own. If you bought the phone on a carrier plan the model name is on the contract, and it is also on the first line of Settings, General, About.

Five designs, five ways of carrying a phone

  • Capri puts two or three cards on the back of a snap-on case, with an RFID blocking layer under the leather.
  • Lucca is the plain snap-on. Shock-absorbent padding behind the phone, nothing on the back, works with Qi chargers.
  • Ravenna is a folio whose wallet unclips, so the same purchase covers a full wallet day and a bare case day.
  • Florence closes over the screen and holds cards and notes.
  • Fermo adds a strap and turns the phone into the bag.

Colour ranges differ by design. Antique Brown and Rustic Black run across most of them, and the swatches on each card show what is in stock for that model.

Cards, charging and everyday use

Capri holds two or three cards flat against the back. Florence and Ravenna take four or five inside the cover along with folded notes. The RFID blocking layer sits behind the slots on all three, so a reader held near your pocket gets nothing back.

Wireless charging works through the leather on every case here. On a wallet model, put the phone side against the pad rather than the card side. A charger will not read through a stack of cards.

Full-grain cowhide and a suede lining

Full-grain is the top layer of the hide with the grain left on. It is the strongest part and the only part that develops a patina, which is the slow darkening you get around the corners and wherever your thumb rests. Split and bonded leather cannot do this, which is why a cheap leather case looks worn out at six months while a full-grain one looks older in a way people like.

The inside is lined with suede so the screen and the camera ring never touch a hard surface. Stitching runs the whole edge rather than stopping at the corners, and the port cutouts are shaped to the phone instead of punched wide.

Initials, added before it ships

Engraving costs 18.90 dollars and is set up on the product page, where you type the text and choose where it goes. The letters are pressed into the leather, so they darken with the rest of the case instead of flaking off the way printing does.
