Galaxy S23 Series

The S23 dropped the camera island and left the lenses standing on their own, which is the look Samsung has kept since. Cases for these phones need three or four separate openings cut through the leather rather than one window, and that is how the ones here are made.

The Ultra is a different body again, with its own case. It also carries the S Pen, and nothing on this page covers the slot.

The S23 is a few years old and still a capable phone, which is exactly the point at which a plastic case has usually gone yellow and loose. Leather does not do that. It darkens, it keeps its shape, and it makes a phone that is no longer new look deliberate rather than dated.

Capri, Lucca and Florence are all cut for these sizes, in full-grain cowhide with a suede lining.

Capri holds two or three cards on the back. Florence takes four or five inside the cover. RFID blocking sits behind the slots on both.

Wireless charging works through the leather with the phone side against the pad. The S Pen slot on the Ultra stays clear.

Full-grain cowhide needs a dry cloth and not much else. Heat is the thing to avoid, so keep it off a car dashboard in summer. A small amount of leather cream once or twice a year covers the rest.

Light scratches disappear under a thumb. Deeper ones stay and become part of the surface, which is the trade you are making when you choose an uncoated leather.

Will an S22 case fit the S23? No. The camera housing changed shape between the two generations, which is the whole reason the cases differ.

Does the S23 FE take the same case as the S23? No, it has its own body.

Can I keep a screen protector on with a folio? Yes. The cover sits above the glass and does not press on the edges.

How long before it looks worn in? Two to three months of daily carrying.

The S23 is roughly the generation where a lot of people stopped upgrading every year. If that describes you, the arithmetic on a leather case changes. Spread over three or four years it costs less per month than the plastic one you would have replaced twice in the same period.
