The hard part of buying leather for someone else is that the good options usually need a measurement or a device model, and asking ruins the surprise.

Everything on this page avoids that. A desk mat, a wallet, a bookmark, a cable roll or a bag fits anyone. If you do know their phone, a case is the piece they will handle most, and the one they are most likely to mention months later.

Initials or a short line can be pressed into most pieces here, set up on the product page before you add to cart. It is stamped into the leather rather than printed, so it darkens along with the rest of the surface.

Two warnings. Engraved items cannot be returned, so check the spelling twice. And initials age better than dates, because a date fixes a gift to one moment while initials just make it theirs.

If you are guessing, the darker shades are the safer guess. Black and dark brown sit well with most wardrobes and hide handling marks, which matters if the person is not used to leather and would read early patina as damage.

Tan and cognac are the more interesting choice and the riskier one. They change the most and the fastest, which is a feature for someone who already owns leather and a surprise for someone who does not.

Engraved pieces take longer to leave the workshop than plain ones, because they are stamped after the order comes in rather than before.

Order engraving well ahead of a date you cannot move. In December, order earlier than you think you need to. If something is tight, write to us with the date rather than hoping, and we will tell you honestly whether it will arrive.

Does it arrive gift ready? Pieces ship in a Venito box, which most people are happy to hand over as it is.

Can I hide the price? Orders do not ship with a printed invoice showing the price.

One more thing worth knowing if you are new to buying leather as a gift. Tell the person it will look different in a month. A lot of first-time owners assume the darkening at the corners is damage and try to scrub it off. It is the material doing what it is meant to do, and it is the reason the piece will still be worth owning in ten years.
