Apple released the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 18, 2026, starting at $1,199 and $1,299. There is no standard iPhone 18 this fall, so if you bought a new iPhone in the last few weeks, it is one of these two. Here is what changed physically, which cases fit, and how to choose between them.
What size are the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max?
Both phones are 8.75 mm thick. The Pro Max is 13.4 mm taller, 6.1 mm wider and 38 grams heavier, so a case for one will not fit the other. Apple's published dimensions:

Each model carries the same set of side controls: volume up and down, the Action button, Camera Control and the side button. Charging runs through USB-C, Qi2 wireless charging (up to 25W) and Apple's MagSafe chargers. Lucca: for the lightest setup
The Pro Max already weighs 249 grams, and some owners don't want to add much. The Lucca snap-on for iPhone 18 Pro (also made for the Pro Max) wraps the back in full-grain leather over shock-absorbent padding, with a suede lining against the glass.
Capri: for a few cards, no flap
The Capri for iPhone 18 Pro Max keeps a snap-on profile with card slots across the back and an RFID shield behind them. It comes in Antique Brown, Coffee Brown and Black Crocodile.
Ravenna and Florence: to replace your wallet
Both use a slim inner case plus a removable outer wallet. The Ravenna for iPhone 18 Pro Max holds up to 8 credit cards across four slots and folds into a stand, held by magnets. A Pro Max is a big phone to keep in a pocket. The Fermo crossbody for iPhone 18 Pro Max puts it on an adjustable strap with card slots and an ID window inside the flip-back cover.
Does wireless charging work through a leather case on the iPhone 18 Pro?
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max support Qi2 and MagSafe wireless charging at up to 25W, according to Apple. Venito cases are not sold as MagSafe compatible, so magnetic chargers, car mounts and MagSafe wallets may not snap on through them. Charging on a standard Qi pad works as follows:
- Lucca charges with the case on.
- Ravenna and Florence charge with the inner case only, with the outer wallet removed.
- Fermo charges with the cards removed and the flap open.
- For Capri, take the cards out before charging.
Apple's support guidance says not to place credit cards, security badges, passports or key fobs between an iPhone and a MagSafe Charger, and to remove them from a case before charging (Apple Support).
Should you add a screen protector and camera lens protector?
